They are listed here as a general service, and Dementia Singapore disclaims any financial interest in any of the enterprises. Smart Devices in Singapore

There has been a growing number of devices that build in both of these features – allowing the user’s live location and movements to be tracked, and allowing him/her to press a ‘SOS’ or panic button to call for help during emergency situations, for e.g., a fall.  This list shows personal GPS trackers and alert buttons that are available in Singapore.

  • Tack GPS Location Tracker
    Tack GPS is a mini location tracker with 30 days of real-world battery life; tracks indoors and outdoors; alerts for arrival/departure of pre-set safe zones; and team sharing location during search missions. Tack GPS is made by Tack One, a smart IoT and AI location service company in Singapore.

Financial Assistance

For family caregivers who may require additional financial resources to cope with the costs relating to caring for persons with dementia, the following are some information and resources available in Singapore.

Community Development Councils (CDCs)

There are 5 CDCs in Singapore to provide financial assistance. Please look for the one nearer your residing area.

Medifund

An endowment fund set up by the Government to help needy Singaporeans who are unable to pay for their medical expenses.

Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)

An affordable healthcare for needy elderly and disabled Singaporeans by Ministry of Health, such that such needy patients can receive subsidised treatment at General Practitioners and dental clinics near their homes.

Government Subsidy for Healthcare Services

Singapore Government provides financial assistance in the form of subsidies to the needy patients who need healthcare related services, through Means Testings framework.

Community Living Resource for a Dementia-Inclusive Singapore

Singapore’s population is ageing rapidly. Currently, one in 10 people aged 60 and above may have dementia. By 2030, there will be an estimated 150,000 people in Singapore who may live with the condition. The Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands Town Community Living Resource booklets serve as a localised resource for Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands Town residents to live well in the community despite dementia.
