As many as 7.7 million new cases of dementia are diagnosed every year worldwide, with Alzheimer’s Disease accounting for 60 to 70 percent of these cases. This statistic makes the need for early diagnosis even more pressing, and is the theme for this year’s World Alzheimer’s Month (WAM) held every September. As memory loss and mental decline progress slowly over time, early diagnosis will allow more time to plan for life ahead and get treatment for your loved ones.
We at ADA are partnering up with Ng Teng Fong General Hospital to bring you a series of informative talks and workshops that will touch on topics like what are some of the common behavioural expressions and psychological symptoms observed in people with dementia and possible home modification for persons with dementia.
