V Vasanthy
Senior Nursing Aide

(Joined 2017)

I have been in the healthcare sector since 2007 and joined Dementia Singapore in 2017 as a Nursing Aide. Under the guidance and support of my Centre Manager, I was promoted to Senior Nursing Aide in 2024. I feel happy and motivated, as this shows that the organisation values my contribution!

Working at Dementia Singapore has been a meaningful experience for me, as the organisation provides vital support and resources to persons living with dementia and their caregivers—a cause close to my heart. Contributing to the improvement of our clients’ quality of life aligns with my passion for healthcare and advocacy!

During my time here, I have had the opportunity to attend specialised dementia care training, such as acquiring skills in the Person-Centre Care (PCC) approach and learning how to apply PCC to my daily work of conducting activities to engage the clients under my care.

Dementia Singapore has also supported my professional development by widening my knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as Reminiscence Arts for Dementia, Negotiation Techniques, and Dementia Care models, helping me acquire new knowledge and skill sets to better care for our clients.

Dementia Singapore offers a deeply compassionate, mission-driven culture and strong work-life balance for employees, supported by leaders who foster both personal and professional growth.

Over the years, I have built meaningful relationships with colleagues who share the same passion and dedication to making a difference. This brings fulfillment in my work and motivates me to continue learning and growing in my career while performing my job well!
