Support Persons Living with Dementia is a competency-based certification programme which aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to support persons living with dementia in a variety of settings.
This is a blended course, and it comprises 3 modules. Learners are strongly encouraged to set aside adequate time to complete self-paced e-learning modules before attending classroom training sessions to fully appreciate the learning activities in class.

Assessment
Learners will complete an assignment for each module and submit in class.
At the end of the course, learners will be required to prepare a powerpoint presentation for practical performance and oral questioning.
Who Should Attend
Professional Staff including nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, counsellors, who are involved in developing care plans, planning activity programmes for persons living with dementia, and supporting direct care staff to manage behaviours of concern.

Our Trainers
Ms Koh Hwan Jing is the Director of Community Enablement at Dementia Singapore. As an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years, she has a wide range of experiences working with people living with dementia and their caregivers across different care settings. She has developed and delivered training courses for family caregivers and professional caregivers and has been actively involved in enabling community partners to enhance the quality of dementia care. Hwan Jing holds a Masters in Mental Health Studies from King’s College London, UK (2007). She has attained the WSQ Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) and is certified in Dementia Care Mapping (Advanced User).
Ms Cai Suqi is a registered social worker. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Social Work and has acquired extensive experience in both acute and community settings. She has a strong interest in older adults and dementia. Suqi was the Centre Manager of the Caregiver Support Services and played a critical role in the development of the Eldersit Respite Care Services. She later ventured into training and consultancy work and attained the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). She is certified in Dementia Care Mapping (Basic User).
Ms Lim Sok Hwee is a registered Social Worker. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Social Work) from the National University of Singapore. She has a strong interest in healthcare and has practised in both acute and community settings. At the Caregiver Support Services, Sok Hwee supports Persons with Dementia and their caregivers by providing behavioural management and caregiving support.
