Caregiver Support Groups

Are you experiencing caregiver stress, seeking information on dementia care, or wanting to meet other caregivers?

 

Caregiver Support Group provides an opportunity for respite while meeting other caregivers in a similar situation to share caregiving experiences and practical tips, learn about dementia, and discover resources in a relaxed and safe environment.

Sessions are conducted in English, Mandarin and Malay for two hours, consisting of a talk by guest speakers and sharing session amongst caregivers.

New Caregivers

Overall Objectives:

  • Enhance understanding of dementia using virtual reality (VR) technology
  • Equip new caregivers with knowledge and skills for the caregiving journey
  • Create a supportive environment for new caregivers for open discussion and foster support network between fellow caregivers

Who should attend:

  • Family caregivers who are caring for their loved ones diagnosed with dementia for 3 years or less, and
  • Able to speak and comprehend English and able to commit to attending all 5 sessions of this support group.

  • Enhance understanding of dementia using virtual reality (VR) technology
  • Equip caregivers with knowledge and skills for the caregiving journey
  • Create a supportive environment for caregivers for open discussion and foster support network between fellow caregivers

Who should attend:

  • Family caregivers who are caring for their loved ones formally diagnosed with dementia, and
  • Are currently also working full-time/part-time, and
  • Able to speak and comprehend English, and
  • Able to commit to attending all 5 sessions of this support group.

  • Enhance understanding of dementia using virtual reality (VR) technology
  • Support caregivers to find meaning and purpose in their caregiving
  • Foster and enhance support for self and fellow caregivers

Who should attend:

  • Family caregivers who are caring for their loved ones formally diagnosed with dementia;
  • Single (i.e. not married, widowed or divorced);
  • Able to speak and understand English; and
  • Able to commit to attending all 5 sessions of this closed support group.
