About inclusive Dementia Friendly Community (iDFC) Webinars

The inclusive Dementia-Friendly Community (iDFC) Webinar Series on managing frailty and dementia is organised by Dementia Singapore, AMKFSC Community Services Ltd, AWWA Ltd, Care Corner Seniors Services Ltd, Caritas Singapore Community Council, Montfort Care, Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities, and TOUCH Community Services.

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, this webinar series provides a platform for partners to continue their outreach efforts to residents and raise awareness on dementia-related skills and knowledge. The aim is to enable local communities and support social and healthcare responses to dementia in order that persons living with dementia can live in their own communities, and be understood, respected, supported and engaged as a member of the community.

Participants from these webinars will be invited to Weekly Group Social Walks that provide 4 important aspects of frailty and dementia prevention i.e. cardiovascular exercises, balancing activities to prevent falls, strength building to boost muscle growth and stretching to alleviate joint pains – starting at respective neighbourhoods and cumulating in an annual large-scale annual Walk 2 Remember initiative in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park when the COVID-19 situation has stabilised.

This Webinar Series is designed to reach out to persons with mild and moderate dementia and their caregivers in the communities of Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh and Bishan.
