DECEMBER 2017
As we wind down another year, we are grateful for the privilege to be able to work for persons living with dementia. Since its inception, ADA has made a significant impact on persons with dementia and their caregivers. Working towards a dementia-inclusive society, our key services — including dementia daycare programmes and centres, caregiver support services and training — serve to improve the lives of persons with dementia and their caregivers. We also support families on their journey of caring for their loved ones, and provide subsidies to those who cannot keep up with the heavy cost of care.
To combat the ever-rising cost of dementia care in Singapore, ADA is launching our new Recurring Gift Programme, and we’re on the search for Guardians of Memory, heroes who will join our fight to protect and guard the memories of persons living with dementia. Find out more here.
Friends, the fight against dementia does not stop during the festivities. If you can lend us your support, we would be most grateful. We know it would make Christmas that much more meaningful! Seasons Greeting and Merry Christmas from all of us at ADA!
(Psst. If you know anyone who would be interested in receiving our e-newsletter, be sure to get them to subscribe.)
FEATURE STORY
With an easy smile and the occasional hearty chuckle, Madam Alice Lim certainly embodies the spirit of someone who has seen it all and appreciates the simple things in life. Decked in a flowery green and red ensemble, and adorned with accessories and a twinkle in her eye, she looks nothing like a woman about to hit the magical 100 mark. Instead, she exudes a cheerfulness and humility which she claims to have been part of her personality from young; traits that have contributed to her reaching the impressive milestone, along with abstaining from smoking and drinking.
