Dementia Singapore Headquarters at 20 Bendemeer Road
Formerly known as Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Dementia Singapore cements itself as the leading organisation in dementia with expansion of services and scope
After dedicating more than 30 years of serving the dementia community as Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA), the organisation is proud to announce that 1 September 2021 marks the official transition from ADA to Dementia Singapore. The date is also the first day of World Alzheimer’s Month, an annual campaign commemorated across the globe in September.
Dementia Singapore is a Company Limited by Guarantee, Non-Profit Organisation and Social Service Agency supported by the National Council of Social Services and the Agency for Integrated Care. It is a Charity and an Institution of a Public Character. Through our various programmes and services, we continue to support those with dementia and their families and raise awareness and education about dementia.
As of 2021, Dementia Singapore run four New Horizon daycare centres, two Family of Wisdom enrichment centres, and multiple other programmes and services for caregivers, professionals and the public.
Presiding the official launch is Her Excellency Halimah Yacob, the President of Singapore and Patron of Dementia Singapore. In a recorded speech, President Halimah commended Dementia Singapore’s work thus far and spoke about its position and work in the dementia care landscape ahead. She added that there is a need to “plan ahead to improve our capability and capacity for dementia care and introduce quality programmes to meet the growing demand” in Singapore.
